2019 Annual Events for Fort Mill

The Greenway –

The Greenway is a protected, natural area which features hiking, biking, horseback riding and various events.

The 2100-acre greenway has forests, lakes and pastures.  It hosts special events like trail races, summer concerts, winter holiday market, goat yoga and a dog park.

Some signature events you can be a part of for 2019 are:

March 24th: Archery Tournament

June 6th – August 15th: Summer Concert Series, every Thursday from June 6 to August 15, 6:30pm-9:30pm

June 7th-9th: Greenway MTB Classic

June 22nd: The Great American Campout

June 23rd: Archery Tournament

August 31st: Tree Shaker MTB Challenge

October 12th– October 27th: Fall Frolic, every Saturday and Sunday from October 12 to October 26, 10am-4pm

November 2: Springmaid Trail Race

November 9: Fall Horse Show

November 30th: Winter Wonderland Holiday Market 

Other Annual Events in Fort Mill and surrounding areas –

March 9: Beertopia-  Beertopia is a beer festival organized by grapevine. The goal of Beertopia is to assemble superior selections of craft beer for sampling by those who attend. The event has a limited attendance capacity of 1500 so make sure to reserve your ticket!

March 16: St Patricks Day on Main – The annual St Patricks Day on Main is held right down the road from Fort Mill in Rock Hill, SC. It is an event  live Irish music, a large Kid’s play area, photo booth and a ton of food and drinks available for you pleasure.

April 28th-May 4th: SC Strawberry Festival – SC Strawberry Festival is a 5 day event at Walter Elisha Park in Fort Mill, SC. The event showcases products like the Strawberry Festival pageant, Pick N’ Flick, golf tournament, pancake breakfast, car show and a number of eating contests.

August 24th: Summerfest – One-day festival help in York, SC. Check out the local vendors, food trucks, craft fair, classic car show, health fair, moonlight bike ride, golf tournament and more!

October 3rd-4th: Blues and Jazz Festival: Celebrate the roots of modern music with infectious rhythms, soulful sounds, high energy performances and much more at the Arts Council of York.

November 11th: Feis Chlobhair, Clover Highland Games and Scots-Irish Festival: This is the only blended Scots-Irish cultural event in the South. Rich with cultural and that showcases Scots-Irish arts, crafts, athletics, music and other honored customs.

November 2019: Carowinds WinterFest: Visit this magically transformed theme park. The theme park is transformed into a winter wonderland full of enchantment, cheer  and classic family fun. Right on the state line of NC and SC, this event is held through the holiday season. Live shows, holiday eats and festive activity are located throughout the park. On top of all of the holiday attractions, you can also enjoy the rides available with a holiday twist.

Fort Mill, South Carolina’s estimated population is 17,557 according to the most recent United States census estimates. Fort Mill, South Carolina is the 26th largest city in South Carolina based on official 2017 estimates from the US Census Bureau.

Originally called “Little York,” and later “Fort Hill,” Fort Mill eventually took its name from a colonial-era British fort and a grist mill that operated on nearby Steele Creek. … After the establishment of the Fort Mill Manufacturing Company in 1887, Fort Mill grew into a major center for textile manufacturing.

 

Fort Mill has grown in size over the last 20 years. Fort mill is a picturesque little town that is full of history. In the town itself, there are unique shopping opportunities along with your typical small town entertainment.

 

Entertainment and Activities:

Fort Mill has an abundance of activities for anyone and everyone. Fort Mill is an iconic, southern town. Fort Mill’s Main street offers unique shopping, dining, and cultural events. Because the city of Fort Mill is approximately 150 years old, it is rich with local history that makes it a charming southern town to live in.

From the Millbank Community, downtown Fort Mill is within walking distance. Whatever your pleasures are, this quaint southern town can provide! If you are interested in southern culinary, the Local Dish, Hobos, Improper Pig and Southern Sugar are excellent dining venues to visit. What about coffee? Fort Mill has the one and only Mud Puddle! This coffee shop offers exquisite cups of coffee that will fulfill any coffee connoisseurs dreams. Finally, Fort Mill also has its own local brewery called the Amor Artis Brewing. In you are interested in partaking in local craft beers, Armor Artis may be your place. We will go ahead and start your tab now.

 

  Within Fort Mill itself, there are multiple “villages” and town centers. These town centers include areas such as Baxter Village and Kingsley. Baxter village is easily one of the most popular areas in Fort Mill. Baxter Village has great places to eat, drink and shop all in one area right in the center of Fort Mill.  Local businesses, a library, YMCA.
